What makes Abraham Moon & Sons tweed special?

Abraham Moon & Sons has been weaving high-quality Yorkshire tweed, known in expert circles as Moon Tweed, since 1837. The weaving mill combines tradition and innovation. Its headquarters are still in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, where all steps from dyeing, spinning, and weaving to finishing are carried out on-site. Consequently, exceptional quality is ensured at every stage.

The craftsmanship reflects genuine artistry and generational expertise. Moon Tweed is known for its rich texture, thoughtful color palettes, and tactile finishing. Each garment embodies the long tradition of weaving and fully embraces "quiet luxury," a subtle luxury for the discerning eye.

The company remains proudly family-owned to this day. From classic tailoring to contemporary fashion, Moon fabrics prove that tradition never goes out of style.

What makes Moon Tweed so exceptional begins with something as simple as water. The mill's fabrics are washed with pure spring water from Yorkshire, a natural resource that established the region's reputation as a textile center centuries ago. But water, even with exceptionally good mineral properties, alone does not make a world-class fabric. For that, you need people.

Moon employs master weavers, dyers, and finishers whose knowledge spans decades. Some have learned their craft from family members who worked on the same looms a generation before. This is not nostalgia. It is tangible skill that you feel when you touch the fabric, see in its complex color depth, and recognize in how beautifully it ages.
